LIBERTY ENLIGHTENING THE WORLD FOUNDATION

Statue of Liberty

Through an exclusive agreement with The Statue of Liberty – Ellis Island Foundation, Inc., and under authority of the National Park Service / U.S. Department of Interior, select artists and partners are commissioned to utilize artifacts preserved from The Statue of Liberty – Ellis Island National Monument to create original works of art officially known as “Liberty Ambassadors” that serve as an inspiring outreach for Liberty.

The Liberty Bike, built by Orange County Choppers and featured on Discovery Channel’s American Choppers series, and the Spirit of America Gibson Les Paul Guitar, created by Gibson Guitar’s Custom & Historic Shop in Nashville, Tennessee, are already a part of the Liberty Ambassador Collection.

These two very special Liberty Ambassadors have toured schools and communities throughout America and have raised funds for children’s charities and been placed on public exhibit at museums, including a two-year exhibit at the Statue of Liberty / Ellis Island National Monument, where they were enjoyed by millions of visitors.

In addition to being utilized to create original works of art, a portion of the artifacts from these precious monuments will forever be preserved “intact” for historical reference and to be utilized in education programs to provide school children an opportunity to touch, hold and experience an actual artifact preserved from the centennial restoration of The Statue of Liberty and be inspired by the art of Liberty’s sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and the engineering genius of Gustave Eiffel, the brilliant engineer who designed the interior framework of the Statue of Liberty.

The Liberty Enlightening the World Foundation is dedicated to utilizing the artifacts preserved from the centennial restoration of The Statue of Liberty / Ellis Island National Monument in specially designed programs for art and education to perpetuate the international vision of “Liberty Enlightening The World”.
